Penguin
About the courage to go your own way, even if you can't fly
With humor and care, Hamzeh Al-Hussien takes the audience on his personal journey: to his village in the Syrian mountains, through the Jordanian refugee camp to his new home in England — and into his own imaginative inner world full of music, dance, dreams, and marbles.
He tells of displacement by war, discrimination, and being the “penguin” who cannot fly but proudly explores the world at his own pace.
An autobiographical story that finds humor, light, and hope in difficult circumstances.
