We are looking for 1-2 more members for the board of Blickfelder Festival (Verein Festival für ein junges Publikum Zürich).
Are you active i.e. in the field of arts, culture, education, pedagogy, politics, or a field relevant to the festival? Activities include appr. four meetings in Zurich and a one- or two-day retreat with the board and the festival team per year, and if necessary individual tasks in working groups. The work of the board is voluntary. We offer a broad network of cultural practitioners, a space of thinking, creating and co-decision-making in strategy within an established, transdisciplinary festival for a young audience. Current board members include Laura Leupi (writer and theater professional, student of cultural/theater studies, OC Grätsche Junges Theater Festival), Andreas Peter (musician, programme group Jungspund), Manuela Runge (theatre and dance professional, Head of Artistic Mediation Theater & School Schauspielhaus Zürich), Danielle Isler (researcher and doctoral candidate in social and cultural anthropology at the University of Bayreuth) and Monika Gysel (lecturer acting/directing ZHdK).
Four out of five board members are white, all are abled-bodied. However, we want to support diversity and inclusion. Therefore, we strongly welcome and encourage persons from underrepresented groups who identify as non-white and/or identify as disabled.
Interested? Send us an email to festival_at_blickfelder.ch (max. one A4 PDF or a voice/video recording), in which you tell us something about yourself and why you want to become a board member. We are looking forward to hearing from you until 1st of December 2023! The interviews are going to take place in January 2024.

This manifesto explains our values and intentions and acts as the basis of the Blickfelder Festival.
We understand the world as sensual and meaningful. We promote the arts and their presence from childhood to adolescence. We unite diverse art forms and create a platform for productions with relevance to current events.
We want to organize ourselves in such a way that people in different life situations and realities can participate in our festival. We confront our own ways of thinking and organizational structures and break down barriers of accessibility.
We connect cultural professionals with cultural businesses and schools. We are constantly looking for new partnerships and forms of collaboration. To further develop the festival, we involve external people in these processes.
We take care to use resources sparingly and set long-term goals. We ensure fair working conditions, social benefits, transparent wages, and take care of each other.
We enable spaces for experiences. Projects with participatory, artistic approaches between cultural practictioners and school classes characterize our festival.
